On Wednesday night, two successive explosions injured two members of the Asayish forces of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration in the city of al-Tabaqa, 43 kilometers west of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.
Sources from the Asayish forces reported to SMART that an explosive device planted by unknown persons targeted a patrol of the Asayish forces in the Iskandariya neighborhood, injuring two of their members. The wounded were transferred to the military hospital in al-Tabaqa for treatment. After that, a second explosive device exploded, causing only material damage.
On Tuesday, an explosive device killed a member of the Asayish forces and injured a civilian near the Old Hal Market in the city of al-Raqqa. Earlier, two explosive devices planted by unknown persons in the city killed a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and injured two civilians.
Since the past year, unknown persons have frequently carried out shootings or explosions of explosive devices and car bombs against the SDF and the Autonomous Administration’s security services, killing and injuring people, most of them civilians. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for some of these explosions.
