On Monday, a child died in a fire in the Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos.
Athens News Agency quoted the local fire department as saying that its teams found a 6-year-old child, whose gender was not identified, in the fires' ashes.
The fire department stated that it extinguished the fire that broke out in containers, wooden shelters and tents. The fire department did not specify who was responsible for setting fire to the camp.
The Moria camp currently hosts more than 9,800 refugees in a camp built to accommodate fewer than 3,000. Fires repeatedly break out in the camp, where also clashes take place among either refugees or with the Greek security forces.
