Aleppo - SMART
Shooting by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) killed a civilian and injured two others near the city of Atarib, 30 kilometers west of the city of Aleppo, Northern Syria.
The HTS is an Islamist opposition faction previously known as the al-Nusra Front, consisting of fighting groups including the Haqq Brigade, Jabhat Ansar al-Din, and Jaysh al-Sunnah.
On Tuesday, a private source reported to SMART that HTS members stormed a family house on the road between the city of Atarib and the village of Kafr Nasih, accusing the family members of stealing copper electrical cables. A jangle rose between the HTS members and the family and developed to shooting between the two parties.
The source added that the shooting killed one of the family members and injured two of his brothers, who were transported to a medical center for treatment. No further information were reported.
HTS violations frequently occurred in its controlled areas. The violations, which included detention, killing, and freedom restriction, affected medical, media, and humanitarian workers on different accusations. The HTS did not send any of the workers to trials or reveal their accusations and place of detention.
