Earthquake hits Mediterranean Sea near Syrian coast

On Tuesday, an earthquake hit the Mediterranean Sea near the Syrian coast, Northeastern Syria.
The Syrian National Earthquake Center (NEC) of the Syrian government's Ministry of Petroleum, said on social media that a minor magnitude 2.6 earthquake hit the Mediterranean off the Syrian coast and 57 kilometers northwest of the city of Latakia.
The NEC stated that the earthquake was recorded at 7:48 a.m off the Syrian coast.
On April 15, an earthquake hit the northern and western regions of Syria, in addition to the southern Turkish states.
On Jan. 24, 2020, four people died as a result of a minor magnitude 6.8 earthquake that hit the city of Elazig, Eastern Turkey. The earthquake also reached some Syrian governorates.
