Deir al-Zor - SMART
On Sunday, a bomb explosion killed a civilian and injured two people, including a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighter in the town of Hajin, 110 kilometers east of Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria.
Local sources reported to SMART that the bomb explosion targeted an SDF patrol, but the explosion injured an SDF fighter and killed a civilian and injured another.
The sources added that the SDF fighters launched an arrest campaign following the explosion. The fighters arrested five people at the location of the explosion and transported them to investigation. The sources provided no information about whether the detainees are involved in the explosion or not.
Shootings and explosions repeatedly take place in Northeastern Syria, mostly targeting SDF fighters and people associated with the Kurdish Autonomous Administration. Some of the attacks targeted civilians. The SDF accuses the Islamic State and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army of being behind the attacks.
