Al-Suwayda - SMART
Unknown persons killed a young man accused of kidnappings in the town of Ariqa, 30 kilometers west of al-Suwayda, Southern Syria.
On Wednesday, a security source reported to SMART that unknown persons in a car shot dead the young man Anas Wasim Azzam while he was standing in front of his fiance’s house in Ariqa. Azzam was transported to the National Hospital in al-Suwayda, and he died there.
The source added that Azzam is a member of a kidnapping gang in Ariqa.
Earlier, unknown persons killed a person accused of kidnappings in the Syrian government-controlled governorate of al-Suwayda.
Syrian government forces-controlled areas are home to a general state of security absence, extensive use of unregulated weapons, and high crime, robbery, and kidnapping for ransom, amidst an absence of the role of Syrian government security forces, while activists accuse the latter of facilitating the work of gangs and criminals.
