Al-Suwayda - SMART

On Sunday, people protested declined living and economic conditions in the Syrian government forces-controlled al-Suwayda governorates, Southern Syria.

Local sources reported to SMART that the people protested under the slogan, “You deny us food, then you chose that we protest,” near the al-Suwayda city council.

The sources added that the people demanded officials of the Syrian government to do their responsibilities toward the citizens, who suffer from poor economic conditions, chaos, and deliberate fires in farmlands of the governorate.

On Dec. 15, 2019, people in the Syrian government forces-controlled cities of al-Suwayda and Shahba protested the declining living and economic conditions.

People in all Syrian government-controlled areas suffer from high prices of food, basic goods, fuel, livestock, and heating devices, affected by the decline of the Syrian pound exchange rate against the United States dollar.
