Kurdish Autonomous Administration prevents exporting wheat to areas outside its control

The Kurdish Autonomous Administration issued a decision to prevent exporting wheat to areas outside its control in Northeastern Syria.

The statement said that it is prohibited to export wheat to areas outside the Kurdish Autonomous Administration’s control, as any violation will subject its owner to legal accountability.

Earlier, the Autonomous Administration fixed the price of barley purchased from farmers in its controlled areas for 2020.   

In 2019, the Autonomous Administration fixed the purchase price of wheat at 175 Syrian pound per kilogram, while the price of barley at 100 SYP. In 2020, the purchase price of wheat was fixed at 225 SYP, however; the Autonomous Administration said that it is holding meeting to adjust the prices.
