NLF kills two Russian forces members while defeating Syrian government's attempt to infiltrate south of Idlib

On Thursday, the National Liberation Front (NLF) of the Syrian National Army announced killing two Russian Special Forces members while defeating an infiltration attempt by the latter and the Syrian government forces near the village of Benin in the Ariha area in Idlib, Northern Syria.
The spokesman for the NLF, Captain Naji Mustafa, reported to SMART that the NLF used light and heavy machine guns in clashes with the Syrian government forces, causing losses to the Syrian government forces. No losses to the NLF faction were reported.
Mustafa added that NLF fighters defeated several attempts by the Russian forces and the Syrian government forces to infiltrate the village of Benin, which is located on the road between the cities of Maarrat al-Nu'man and Ariha, as they were trying to advance to the village's forest.
Mustafa stated that the Syrian government forces targeted the area with more than 100 artillery and missile shells during the infiltration, and continued bombing to cover the withdrawal of advanced forces.
On June 15, 2020, the NLF monitored movements of the Syrian government forces and loyalist militias on fronts in the southern countryside of Idlib, Northern Syria.
Earlier, Free Syrian Army factions announced preventing civilians from entering their controlled areas in the villages of the Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, as there are military areas.
On June 8, 2020, Russian airstrikes killed two civilians and injured three others in the towns and villages of the Zawiya Mountain.
