SNA repels SDF attempt to infiltrate north of Aleppo
Aleppo - SMART
The Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) said that its forces repelled an infiltration attempt by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) south of the city of Azaz, Northern Syria.
On Friday, the spokesman for the SNA, Major Yousef Hammoud, reported to SMART that SNA fighters repelled SDF attempt to infiltrate the village of Kafr Khasher near the city of Azaz (43 kilometers north of Aleppo). The SNA clashed with the SDF, injuring several SDF fighters.
Hammoud added that on Thursday, the SNA used light and heavy machine guns in clashes with the SDF, causing losses to the SDF. As a result, the SDF intensively shelled the area to cover the withdrawal of its fighters. No information on SNA losses were reported.
Hammoud stated that the SDF forces repeated attempts to infiltrate the villages adjacent to their controlled areas, while the SNA repelled all attempts to infiltrate and caused casualties and material losses to the SDF.
On Dec. 3, 2019, SDF shelling killed a woman and injured others, including women and children, in the city of Azaz.
The SDF repeatedly shell SNA-controlled cities and towns, while clashes frequently occurred between the two parties in northern and eastern Aleppo, killing and injuring people, including civilians.
