Clashes between SNA and SDF burn agricultural lands in Manbij, east of Aleppo
Aleppo - SMART
On Sunday night, fires broke out in agricultural lands in the city of Manbij, 38 kilometers east of Aleppo, Northern Syria, after clashes between the Syrian National Army (SNA) affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government on one hand and the Manbij Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the other.
Activists in the city of Manbij reported to SMART that SNA fighters clashed with SDF fighters in the Sajur frontline, which extends between the villages of Arab Hassan and al-Yashli, northwest of Manbij. No information on casualties were reported.
The sources added that fires broke out in the agricultural lands surrounding the area, noting that the fires burned about 50 hectares of wheat and barley crops, and several olive trees.
The sources stated that the clashes prevented the people and the firefighting teams from extinguishing the fire that reached civilians' homes, without reports on casualties.
Explosions and assassinations usually occure in the SDF-controlled city of Manbij. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for some incidents, while the SDF announces arresting IS cells in the city.
