Explosive device kills and injures civilians in Afrin city, Aleppo

On Friday, an explosive device, planted by unknown persons, killed a civilian and injured two others in the Syrian National Army-controlled city of Afrin, 43 kilometers north of the city of Aleppo, Northern Syria.
Muhammad Amuri, media official of Afrin’s Civil Defense, reported to SMART that an explosion of a device that was planted near the Maysalun School in the al-Asharafiah neighborhood in Afrin killed Abdullah Zwein, who is from Aleppo, and injured Yasmin Hamadah and Mahmoud Hasan, who were transported to the Afrin Military Hospital in critical conditions.
On June 24, 2020, a similar explosion killed a civilian and injured another in Afrin.
On Apr. 29, 2020, a car bomb explosion killed and injured 103 people in a crowded public market in Afrin. The explosion occurred few hours before Iftar in the holy month of Ramadan.
Explosions became frequent in northern and Eastern Aleppo, resulting in the killing and injuries of dozens of civilians and Free Syrian Army commanders and fighters, amidst accusations against the Islamic State and the Syrian Democratic Forces. The police and local councils took precautionary procedure to prevent casualties due to these explosions.
