Free Syrian Army repulses Syrian government forces' attempt to advance in southeast of Hama

On Saturday, Homs Army of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) announced that it had repulsed Syrian government forces' attempt to advance in the Qubat al- Kurdi area, 20 kilometers southeast of Hama, Central Syria.

The military commander of the Homs Army, Ahmed Abu Zeid, told SMART that they and al-Rastan operations room targeted the Syrian government forces by heavy artillery. They also killed some Syrian government forces, destroyed their military mechanisms, and forced them to withdraw. The Syrian government forces were trying to advance to restore the checkpoints that they lost recently in Qubat al- Kurdi area.

Abu Zeid added that the clashes, which took place on Friday night - Saturday, killed three fighters of al Rastan operations room and wounded six others. An opponent of Homs Army was injured as well.

Three days ago, clashes between FSA factions and Syrian government forces killed eight members of the government forces in the village of Qubat-al Kurdi.

On Friday, the FSA factions and the Islamist battalions repulsed loyalist forces' attempt to advance in the villages of al-Hamr and Salim, north of Homs adjacent to Hama.
