Idlib – SMART

The Chef Mobile Restaurant offers Iftar meals for internally displaced persons (IDPs), residing in the camps of al-Bara, Idlib, Northern Syria. The restaurant sells meals at affordable prices and offers them for free to poor people and those in need.

Muhammad al-Yussef, a supervisor at the mobile restaurant, reported that the idea of the restaurant is to serve hot and fresh meals for IDPs on time, as they do not have to head for city centers to get these meals anymore. Al-Yussef said that they aim to offer meals in the mobile restaurant in all areas where there are no restaurants.

A worker at the mobile restaurant said that they offer meals just like the meals in their main restaurant. The mobile restaurant saves the people time and traveling.

Abu Hadi, a resident from the town, said that the idea of the mobile restaurant is very good, as they can get fresh and affordable meals from the town now, whereas before they had to travel to Kaf Nubl (the nearest city to al-Bara town).

Hundreds of thousands of IDPs have come from Eastern Ghouta, Southern Damascus, Homs, and Hama, in addition to earlier IDPs from the Eastern countrysides of Idlib and Hama.
