Aleppo - SMART

The al-Badr Brigade of the al-Ahrar al-Sham Islamist Movement has raided the apartments of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Eastern Ghouta in Nahiyat Jandayris in the Afrin area in Aleppo, Northern Syria. The al-Badr Brigade demanded the IDPs to leave the apartments in favor of the al-Badr Brigade's fighters.

On Wednesday, a source reported that masked fighters from the al-Badr Brigade raided the IDPs' apartments on Monday.

The source added that the fighters forced men to meet the fighters’ commander at gunpoint amidst a state of panic among the women and children.

The source stressed that the unnamed commander informed the IDPs that they had to leave the apartments “because the fighters of the al-Badr Brigade liberated the apartments and wanted to live in them.” The source noted that the commander gave the IDPs a deadline until the end of Ramadan.

Earlier, the al-Sharqiya Army demanded IDPs from Eastern Ghouta to leave their houses in Nahiyat Jindayris in favor of the al-Sharqiya Army's fighters.

A local official in the Afrin area said that its residents will leave if the opposition's military factions continue to commit violations against civilians. The official added that the al-Sham Legion objects to the work of civil groups in governmental institutions, the Ahrar al-Sham's taking control of civilians’ houses, and the al-Sharqiya Army's assault on civilians.
