Al-Raqqa - SMART

On Saturday, the First Response Team pulled out seven bodies from a newly discovered mass grave south of al-Raqqa city, Northeastern Syria.

The bodies were pulled out from the mass grave discovered by the Response Team in the zoo, south of the city.

A source from the team told SMART that they had not yet been able to identify an approximate number of bodies in the cemetery because there were several bodies in each grave.

On Thursday night, the team discovered the cemetery, pulled out 13 bodies, and took them to the al-Bayaa cemetery for burial.

The Response Team continues to pull out the bodies from the mass graves left behind by the shellings of the International Coalition during the battle to take control of the city, in addition to the graves left behind by the Islamic State.
