Daraa - SMART

On Sunday, an unknown person shot at a Syrian government forces' checkpoint in the city of Daraa, Southern Syria.

A local source, who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons, reported that an unknown person shot at a Syrian government forces' checkpoint in Daraa's Sajnah neighborhood, without causing injuries.

The source said that the Syrian government forces' members at the checkpoint prevented cars from crossing after the incident, while other traffic remained normal.

The source added that the checkpoint belongs to the Syrian Army's Tenth Division, with the presence of a few members from the Military Security Service.

On Aug. 24, 2018, the first demonstration since the Syrian government forces seized control of Daraa, arose in the city of Daraa to demand the release of detainees and lift the security grip on the city.

In recent weeks, the Syrian government reached reconciliation agreements in the towns and cities previously controlled by the Free Syrian Army and Russia. The reconciliation agreements included deporting those who refused to sign it to Northern Syria.
