The Civil Defense documented the killing of 14 civilians and injury of 31 others due to suspected Russian airstrikes on the Jisr al-Shughur district in Western Idlib, Northern Syria.

The Civil Defense published a report saying that 46 airstrikes, which activists to be Russian, killed 14 civilians and injured 31 others, including women and children in 20 towns and villages in Jisr al-Shughur. The report noted that the airstrikes hit three schools and a market.

The report added that the Civil Defense removed victims, transported the injured to hospitals, and extinguished fires caused by the bombings. The report noted that residents fled towards the Turkish border.

The Russian airstrikes came as the Syrian government forces sent military reinforcements to Idlib and spoke of a Russian-backed expected military operation in the governorate.

The Idlib governorate in Northern Syria is included in the de-escalation agreement, which the guarantor states Russia, Iran, and Turkey renewed in the last round of the Astana Talks.
