Quneitra - SMART

On Wednesday, the Syrian government's Finance Directorate issued a decision to confiscate the properties and belongings of teachers that used to work in schools run by the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in FSA-controlled areas in the Quneitra governorate, Southern Syria.

A special source reported that the decision affects teachers and school principals who worked in schools when the Free Syrian Army controlled the area. The source added that he could not determine the number of affected teachers. One teacher estimated that the decision will affect about 15 teachers.

The source added that the decision included the towns of central and southern Quneitra in addition to the town of Jubata al-Khashab.

On July 23, 2018, the Syrian government forces seized seven villages in the Quneitra governorate, including al-Rafid, after the Islamic State withdrew.
