On Thursday, a bomb explosion killed a child in the city of Sarmin in the Idlib governorate, Northern Syria. The perpetrators behind the explosion remain unknown.

Activists reported that the explosion killed a seven-year-old child and injured his father. The activists added that unknown gunmen planted the bomb in a street in a northern neighborhood in Sarmin.

In recent days, bombs and car bombs have exploded on a semi-daily basis in Idlib as the Syrian government warns of an expected military campaign in the governorate.

Unknown gunmen continue to target Free Syrian Army and Islamist battalion commanders and fighters using bombs, car bombs, and shootings, killing and injuring dozens, including civilians, in the Idlib governorate.
