Aleppo - SMART

On Wednesday, the Shabab al-Tagheer group organized a sit-in in the town of Urum al-Kubrah, 20 kilometers west of Aleppo, Northern Syria, to stress that the Syrian Revolution will continue.

Thirty protesters participated in the sit-in. The protesters raised signs saying, "We are deeply rooted in our land like olives roots," and "Our revolution is steadfast and we will not give it up."

Muhammad Khair Hassoun, a coordinator from the Shabab al-Tagheer, said that they organized the sit-in as part of a campaign named "We will stay as long as th olive trees stay," to stress the principles and continuation of the revolution, and to motivate people to remain steadfast.

Hassoun added that members of civil society institutions, local councils, and activists participated in the sit-in.

Mahmoud al-Ibrahim, the head of the local council in Urum al-Kubrah, said that he participated in the sit-in to deny the Syrian government and its allies' accusations saying that the opposition in Northern Syria is made up of terrorists. Al-Ibrahim stressed that the Syrian government is the one who is terrorist and exports terrorism to the world.

Days ago, hundreds of demonstrators protested in the Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama governorates. The protesters stressed that the Syrian Revolution will continue, condemning the Syrian government forces' threats to storm Idlib under the pretext of eliminating terrorism.
