Daraa - SMART

The Syrian government forces arrested a doctor and a nurse in the town of Kafr Shams in Daraa, Southern syria, on charges of receiving a money transfer from outside Syria. A Russian delegation that visited the town promised to work on releasing them.

On Sunday, a local source from the town, who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons, told SMART that the doctor received a money transfer from his family in Qatar to start a private business. However, the Syrian government forces accused the doctor of receiving money from Qatari organizations, and arrested him accordingly.

The source clarified that a Russian delegation visited the town upon request from town residents, who gathered around the delegation demanding the release of the doctor and nurse. The delegation promised the people to release the arrested in the next couple of days.

After concluding agreements in Daraa and deporting the people who refused to sign the agreements to Northern Syria, the Syrian government forces arrested several civilians and former Free Syrian Army fighters and refused to give eligible university students the official documents to postpone their compulsory military service, in addition to committing other violations.
