On Wednesday, Syrian government forces shelled farmland and residential areas in villages and towns of the northern countryside of Hama, Central Syria.

Local activists told SMART that the Syrian government forces, stationed at the Zlin checkpoint, targeted farmland between the city of al-Lataminah and the village of Zallaqiat, north of Hama, using mortar shells.

The Syrian government forces, stationed in the village of al-Masasnah, also shelled the Wadi al-Duwarat area, east of al-Lataminah, using heavy artillery and heavy machine guns, causing no injuries.

On Wednesday morning, the Syrian government forces shelled farmland and residential areas near the city of Morek from their sites in the city of Suran.

The Syrian government and Russian warplanes have recently intensified shelling on the northern Hama countryside, killing and injuring civilians.
