On Saturday, a trapped car explosion killed and injured more than 30 people near a fuel store in the city of Azaz, 43 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

The Civil Defense announced that a trapped car exploded in the Industrial City in Azaz, killing four people, including a child, and injuring 27 people.

Muhamad Sallum, a Civil Defense member, reported that they headed for the place of the explosion, pulled out dead people, and transported injured people to hospitals. Sallum added that the explosion caused huge material damage, saying that the death toll may increase, as most people received severe injuries.   

Samir Akkash, local council's medical office associate director, stated that most injured people received severe burns, as they transported them to Turkish hospitals via the Bab al-Salamh nearby border crossing.  

Last September, a trapped car exploded near a civilians' sit-in location in front of Azaz local council, killing a civilian and injuring 20 others. Another trapped car exploded near the local council of the town of Akhtarin, as several other explosions also occurred due to landmines and unexploded ordnance.
