On Tuesday, the al-Ahrar al-Sharqiya Gathering in the Free Syrian Army arrested an Islamic State (IS) member inside Turkey, in coordination with the Turkish intelligence services.

Al-Ahrar al-Sharqiya gathering said that their security services arrested an IS member inside a hospital in the Turkish city of Mersin.

Al-Ahrar al-Sharqiya added that earlier, the IS members escaped from Syria to Turkey, noting that the IS member is accused of committing crimes against civilians when he was in the IS ranks.

On September 23, 2018, al-Ahrar al-Sharqiya gathering arrested another IS member also inside a Turkish hospital.

Turkish security services arrested people on charges of affiliation with the IS in the cities of Ankara, Konya, Adana, Izmir, and others. The security services said that they arrested 245 IS commanders and members in March 2018 alone.
