Hama - SMART

On Saturday, pro-Syrian government media channels quoted from a doctor that the Syrian government forces found a mass grave near the village of Aqareb al-Safi of the Al-Salamiyah city, Eastern Hama, Central Syria.

Rami Razzuk, a forensic physician in al-Salamiyah, said that the mass grave found on the perimeter of the Aqareb Dam included more than eight civilians' bodies, including children, from the village who were executed by the Islamic State (IS) while it controlled the area.

Late last year, the Syrian government forces expelled the IS from the villages of the city of al-Salamiyah after the IS has controlled them for over two years.

The IS executed many people in Syria for several accusations, such as dealing with their enemy forces, refusing to obey for the IS, and other religious accusations.
