Hama - SMART

On Friday, snipers from the Free Syrian Army's Jaysh al Ezza of and the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) killed two Syrian government forces members in Northern Hama, Central Syria.

The HTS is an Islamist opposition faction previously known as the al-Nusra Front, consisting of fighting groups including the Haqq Brigade, Jabhat Ansar al-Din, and Jaysh al-Sunnah.

Activists said that the Jaysh al Ezza snipers shot a Syrian government forces member at the Zalin checkpoint in Northern Hama. The HTS also managed to shoot another Syrian government forces member on the front lines near the town of Ma'an (25 kilometers north of Hama).

Sniping incidents repeatedly occurred between the Syrian government forces on the one hand and the FSA factions and the Islamic battalions on the other, despite the ceasefire agreement and the demilitarized zone signed by Russia and Turkey in the city of Sochi.
