International Coalition raid kills IS commander in Eastern Deir al-Zor

Deir al-Zor - SMART

On Wednesday, the International Coalition launched a raid on the town of al-Kashma, 70 kilometers east of Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria, killing an Islamic State (IS) commander.

Local sources reported that the commander, who was known as Abu Khadija al-Iraqi, supervised IS explosive attacks.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which supported by the International Coalition, stated on their official website that International Coalition aircraft launched 31 raids on IS-controlled areas.

Earlier, the SDF killed an IS journalist in clashes near the town of Hajin in Eastern Deir al-Zor.

The SDF and International Coalition continue to clash with the IS in Eastern Deir al-Zor. The SDF gained control of Hajin, and is trying to gain control of IS-controlled areas further east in the governorate.
