Daraa - SMART

Unknown people wrote slogans against the Syrian government on walls in the town of Muzayrib, 11 kilometers north of Daraa, Southern Syria.

On Tuesday, local activists reported that unknown people wrote slogans calling for the overthrow of the Syrian regime and President Bashar al-Assad on the walls of the Bermawi school in the town. The slogans included, “We demand the overthrow of Bashar and the regime,” “We want the settlement and traitors to fall,” and “We want Baath Party to fall.”

A few days ago, unknown people wrote slogans against the Syrian government on walls in the cities of al-Harak, Nawa and Jassim and the village of al-Mutaiya. People also demonstrated in the city of Daraa condemning those who recently joined the Syrian government forces ranks. On Saturday, protesters in the town of Nahta tore a photo of the Syrian government President after his loyalist put it on the municipal building.

A few months ago, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions in Daraa, Southern Syria, reached a final agreement with Russia. The agreement will be applied in the entire Daraa governorate, except its northwestern countryside, and includes a ceasefire and FSA fighters handing over their heavy weapons. The agreement also includes that the fighters who refuse to sign it will be displaced to Northern Syria.
