Aleppo - SMART

On Thursday, a house collapsed due to the heavy rainfall in the village of al-Salloum in the Jabal Siman area, Western Aleppo, Northern Syria, injuring four displaced children.

A local source told Al-Bawaba Aleppo, which is one of the SMART News Agency media projects, said that the children received minor injuries and were transported to a nearby medical center after the cracked walls of their house collapsed due to the heavy rain.

Earlier, rainstorms and floods killed and injured several people in the Aleppo governorate, while on Dec. 8, 2018, a rainstorm killed a woman and her daughter in the Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) area.

On Thursday, weather forecasters warned from heavy rainfalls and possible floods that would create traffic jams in the streets of the Aleppo governorates.

Earlier today, hundreds of displaced families grew homeless again due to the rain that destroyed their tents in the camps of the Atmah compound in Northern Idlib, as the Civil Defense declared a state of public alert and raised readiness to help people and restore the water drain system, which was blocked by the heavy rain.
