Al-Hasakah - SMART

On Monday, dozens of people participated in a demonstration in the city of al-Qamishli, 75 kilometers north of al-Hasakah, Northeastern Syria, condemning the military operation that Turkey is planning to launch in Northern and Northeastern Syria.

One of the demonstrators, called Khair al-Din Ibrahim, said that they demonstrated to express their solidarity with the martyrs and to confirm that the sacrifices made by the people of al-Hasakah will continue against any action by Erdogan.

Dozens of families of the killed members of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) participated in the demonstration and raised photos of their sons.

The people demonstrated in response to Turkish threats to launch a military operation against the YPG in Northern and Northeastern Syria before the United States President Donald Trump announced his intention to withdraw his troops from Syria.
