On Tuesday, the Syrian government artillery forces shelled two towns controlled by the Islamic State (IS) in the al-Bukamal area, 120 kilometers east of Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria.

Local sources reported that the Syrian government forces stationed at the water refinery station in al-Bukamal shelled the towns of al-Susah and al-Baghouz, eastern al-Bukamal. The source reported no injuries.

The Syrian government forces and IS continue to clash in areas between al-Bukamal and the al-'Ashara area. The al-Nujabaa Iraqi militia, Lebanese Hezbollah, and Iranian Revolutionary Guard support the Syrian government forces in the clashes.
