People’s Protection Units arrest three people in al-Tabaqa, al-Raqqa

On Thursday, the People’s Protection Units arrested three people in the city of al-Tabaqa, 55 kilometers west of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.

A source from the internal security forces of the Autonomous Administration reported that the  Combating Terrorism Forces (HAT) arrested Hussein al-Mawla from his house in the al-Mangheia neighborhood. The source added that the HAT arrested Mudhi al-Jarad and his son-in-law, who is called Abu Mamdouh Ghassan, from Jarad’s house in the al-Zuwayghat neighborhood.

The source noted that the reason for the arrests is unknown. The source said that the arrested people were previously detained in the prisons of the Syrian Democratic Forces on charges of affiliation with the Islamic State and they were released two months ago.

On January 9, 2019, the Asayish forces of the Autonomous Administration arrested two individuals in al-Raqqa due to attempting to write pro-Syrian government slogans.
