Al-Raqqa - SMART

On Thursday, the internal security forces (Asayish) of the Autonomous Administration confiscated ten fuel trucks in northern al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria, under the pretext of violating fuel transportation laws.

Fuel traders said that each of the trucks carried from 40 to 60 diesel barrels and came from oil fields in Deir al-Zor and al-Hasakah to al-Raqqa. The traders added that the Asayish confiscated the trucks near the village of al-Kalita and transported them to the village of Hazima. The truck's owners feared that the Asayish would impose a fine on them and confiscate the fuel.

The traders added that the Asayish justified its detention of trucks to the violation of fuel and oil laws imposed by the Autonomous Administration. The laws prohibit the transportation of fuel, except through Autonomous Administration institutions or authorized sides.

The Asaysih and other forces of the Autonomous Administration have been confiscating truckloads of fuel from al-Hasakah and Deir al-Zor on a regular basis for several months.
