Aleppo - SMART
The Salvation Government is operating in areas controlled by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Northern Syria, announced reopening two crossings linking HTS-controlled areas with others controlled by the Syrian government forces and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the governorate of Aleppo.
On Thursday, the General Directorate of Crossings of the Salvation Government said that after about a week of closure, it opened the Darat Izzah and al-Mansoura crossings in western Aleppo for the commercial and civilians movement after controlling the area militarily and security.
According to activists, the Darat Izzah crossing links the HTS-controlled areas in western Aleppo with FSA-controlled areas in Afrin. The al-Mansoura crossing links HTS-controlled areas with Syrian government-controlled areas in the Halab al-Jadida neighborhood, Aleppo.
The Crossings Directorate added that it is working to control the exports and imports and the economic and security movement to and from HTS-controlled areas and to facilitate the importation of necessary materials and the export of local industries.
Eight days ago, the Crossings Directorate closed the crossings against the background of the clashes between the HTS and the FSA. The clashes ended when the HTS gained control of the region, after reaching an agreement to put the entire area under the Salvation Government control.
