On Thursday, the Sports and Youth Authority of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration organized women's volleyball tournament in the city of Amuda, 70 kilometers north of al-Hasakah, Northeastern Syria.

Tullin Mousa, director of the Women's Sports Office, said that the teams participating in the league are divided into two groups of five teams, and at the end of the league the first and the second teams from each group remain.

Tullin added that the league aims to activate female activities and to help girls to prove themselves in the region.

The player Fatima al-Husseini stated that the ten teams participating in the league are from the cities of al-Hasakah, Rmelan, Amuda, and al-Derbasiya.

The Sports and Youth Authority in Autonomous Administration-controlled areas frequently organizes sports activities for women such as football, chess, volleyball, ping pong, taekwondo, and others.
