Residents find body of SDF member in eastern Deir al-Zor

On Saturday, residents in the city of Granij, 90 kilometers east of Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria, found the body of a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) member.

Local sources reported that the member belongs to the SDF self-defense. The residents found his decapitated body near the Euphrates River in the city and informed security authorities that transferred the body, without information about an investigation.

Earlier, residents of the village of Abu Hardoub, 70 kilometers southeast of Deir al-Zor, Northeastern Syria, found five decapitated bodies of unknown persons in a landfill in the area. Civilians also found the body of a SDF member after being kidnapped by unknown persons in the village of Ber al-Sayad.

In the past months, unknown persons and the Islamic State carried out military operations in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zor, controlled by the SDF, kidnapping several SDF members, killing and injuring others.
