On Thursday, the Russian forces shelled the town of al-Lataminah, 24 kilometers north of Hama, Central Syria, killing a civilian.

Local activists reported that the Russian forces stationed in the village of Kubaybat al-Huda shelled residential neighborhoods in the town of al-Lataminah using rockets, killing a civilian, and causing damage to properties.

The Syrian government forces stationed in the village of al-Zallaqiyat also targeted the town of al-Lataminah with artillery shells, causing only material damage, according to activists.

The activists added that the Russian forces stationed in the village of Tal Bezam targeted the city of Kafr Zayta, northern Hama. No information on civilian casualties was given.

On Jan. 11, Syrian government forces bombing on a residential neighborhood in the city of al-Lataminah killed a child and injured her mother.

The Syrian government and Russia shelled the area despite the agreement signed between Russia and Turkey on Sept. 17. The agreement included a ceasefire and the establishment of a demilitarized zone, separating areas controlled by the Syrian government from areas controlled by the Free Syrian Army and Islamic battalions in Idlib and northern Hama.
