Clashes between SDF and IS kill and injure 128 members of both sides in eastern Deir al-Zor

On Friday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that clashes with the Islamic State (IS) killed and injured 128 members of both sides in eastern Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria.

In a statement, the SDF reported that its forces killed 88 IS members in the clashes near the town of al-Susah. The IS also killed ten SDF members and injured and 30 others.

The statement added that the International Coalition aircraft launched 80 air raids on the IS sites in the vicinity of the town, destroying 56 military bases of the IS.

On Thursday, the IS attacked SDF sites near the town of al-Susah (126 kilometers southeast of Deir al-Zor). The attack killed 15 members of both sides.

The SDF is trying to expel the IS from its last stronghold in Deir al-Zor and gained control of the city of Hajin and most parts of the village of al-Baghuz al-Tahtani, thus gaining control of the entire border with Iraq.
