Al-Hasakah - SMART

The Israeli occupational forces released a Syrian shepherd after he was detained for several hours from the al-Quneitra governorate, Southern Syria.

On Sunday, local sources told SMART that the Israeli occupational forces released the shepherd on Saturday, where he was arrested on charges of smuggling sheep into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The Israeli occupational forces arrested the shepherd in front of the Syrian government forces in the town of Saida, without stating the charges.

The sources noted that the Syrian government forces located near the border strip with the occupied Golan stole the sheep after the Israeli occupational forces arrested the shepherd.

On December 24, 2018, the Israeli Army announced that they targeted an unknown armed group that entered the occupied Golan from Syria.
