On Thursday, the United States (US) imposed new sanctions on Iranian militias operating in Syria, as well as an airlines company affiliated with the al-Qudus Corps militia.

The US Department of the Treasury said that it sanctioned the Fatimiyoon Brigade and the Zeinabiyoon Brigade in Syria due to providing material support for the al-Qudus Corps of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. The department added that it took procedures against the Qasham Fares Air company for the same reason, according to the US al-Hurra channel.

On November 20, 2018, the US imposed economic sanctions on six individuals and three companies for transporting Iranian oil to Syria.

The US and European Union imposed economic sanctions on Russia, Iran, Syrian government’s officials, Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and Lebanese Hezbollah militias for participating in acts of violence practiced by the Syrian government.
