Al-Raqqa - SMART

On Sunday, the Initial Response Team (IRT) of the al-Raqqa Civil Council retrieved 16 bodies from a mass grave and the rubble of destroyed buildings in the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.

A source from the IRT reported that they retrieved 12 bodies, including two adults, from the al-Fakhikha mass grave. The IRT returned two of the bodies to their families, but failed to identity the rest of the bodies.

The source added that the IRT retrieved three bodies from beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings in the al-Badou neighborhood and another body from the al-Haramiya neighborhood. The source noted that the IRT buried the unidentified bodies in the Tal al-Bay'a (also known as al-Shuhadaa) area in northeastern al-Raqqa.
