Syrian government forces shell southern Idlib, wounding child

On Sunday, the Syrian government forces shelled the town of al-Qasabiya, 53 kilometers south of Idlib, Northern Syria, wounding a child.

Local activists told SMART that the Syrian government forces based at the Bridij checkpoint targeted the town with rockets, wounding a child. The child's injuries were minor and he was transferred to a nearby medical clinic.

The activists added that the Syrian government forces shelled the villages of Tremla, Sikik, al-Tah and the town of al-Tamanah in southern Idlib from the Bridij checkpoint and the villages of Abu Dali and Ma'an, northern Hama.

On Thursday, the Syrian government forces shelled the town of Jarjanaz and the village of al-Tah, southern Idlib, wounding seven civilians, including a child and a woman. The wounded civilians were transferred to a nearby medical clinic.

The Syrian government forces continue to shell the Idlib governorate, killing and wounding civilians. The Russian forces also shell the governorate although the region is included in the Turkish-Russian demilitarization agreement of September 2018.
